AHHHH.. feeling so awesome!! It's been such an amazing day. Went out for breakfast with my family.. Gosh it's been such a long while since the four of us went out together to have breakfast like that! We're going to try that again tomorrow, and this time we're going to Provence.. OMG I'm getting addicted to that place. Such an enticing Japanese bakery. With nothing but awesome smelling bread.. I took so long to make my choice last night! Gosh, I think I'm going to have the breads for dinner every week if I can help it. (stomach growls). Excited :DDDDDD

PLUS.. My room is looking SPIFFY! Thanks to the post-graduation boredom Mer (whom I was cursing away at half the time HAHA I owe you a massage) was suffering from earlier this evening, it's really looking soooo fantastic now. She so very kindly helped me to clean out the terrible amount of junk in my room.. It wasn't easy, and for an hour or so it looked awful. Everything was everywhere, and I couldn't even stop halfway cos it would kill me to leave it in that chaotic state. And now, there's not a single stack of paper lying around. YAY. Mer rocks. I've cleaned out a great amount of the external junk, now it's time to look inwards. Feeling so motivated and refreshed. :D We rewarded ourselves with sotong balls and a second dinner (steamboat tonight. Awesome stuff too :DDDD)

PLUS!! We finally got down to opening our angpaos. Hahaha. For the first time since I can remember, our collectings actually tallied. Hahahaha. But she went away with significantly more because of her in-laws. Hahaha. Still.. Happy :DD

Okay. Off to do work now. Breakfast at provence awaits... Mmm :DDD

Read through some past entries in my spiritual journal, and realised how far we've come.. It doesn't feel like a very distant memory, yet it seems as though a long time has passed.. Wonder how you're doing at the recollection.

Just now, Matt and I were forced to come up with a tune for the responsorial psalm (the same psalm for which Des composed a beautiful melody on a gloomy, rainy day exactly one year ago) on the spot upon realising that the one we'd planned for wasn't the right one.. Despite the fact that all the hymns were chosen based on the wrong readings, it fitted the mass anyway.. That was fortunate. Father Alex gave a wonderful homily on forgiveness, too.. Feeling contemplative. Oh OHH but dinner was awesome. Provence bread. YUM :D

Nothing but silence can truly do justice to Your beauty, for it is only with a peace of mind and a silent heart that we can fully appreciate the wonder of Your creation. How the very existence and the simple, unadulterated state of being of it all speak volumes about Your glory! I'm starting to understand why the Franciscans love nature so much. The beauty of creation reflects the beauty of the Creator.

It's been a pretty OK day. Tomorrow will be great. Too tired to do anything else right now. Goodnight..

So what kind of relationship do the traits of a round character bear to each other? There has to be a certain kind of richness that we call "complexity." The various traits of a "round" character will not all line up in some coherent hierarchy. Harrison's "multifaceted natural excellence" expresses itself in a comprehensive totality of distinct realms (physical, intellectual, moral), and within each of these realms we see a wealth of distinct aspects of excellence (as to the physical, for instance, he is agile, graceful, swift, strong, and beautiful; the brilliance of his intellect presumably not only logical competence but imaginative powers and aesthetic sensibility, not only tactical cleverness but [we suppose] strategic depth; ethically he is evidently courageous and resolute as well as clear-sighted about the rights of individuals to realize their potentials [i.e., not only strong of will but committed to presumably sound values]). This systematic unity of conception means that all these various traits are mutually harmonious and, in the end, reducible to a simple overall formula, in this case, something like "Versatile Natural Talent."

...

It's really interesting how things which appear so different at first glance - like math and narratives - can actually be pretty similar once you delve deeper into it. There are similar underlying principles which govern how they work. And the effect on you is like the experience a wonderful consonant chord. Hehee. It's odd how many random coursemates I've noticed taking logic-science of music, narrative-science of music, and logic-narrative.
